The Candor Emergency Squad is sponsoring their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament to help raise money to update and purchase new medical equipment. The Candor Emergency Squad answered 592 calls last year to Candor and the surrounding areas. They are a not-for-profit agency 40c3 that depends on donations, fundraisers and grants to purchase much of their equipment, maintain their 3 ambulances and building and train their EMT’s. Last year with the help of the golf tournament and a grant from the Truman Faulkner Foundation they were able to upgrade their aging heart monitors with 3 brand new, state of the art, Zoll Heart Monitors. These new heart monitors are able to transmit vital information right to the hospitals while the ambulance is still enroute so the emergency rooms can be ready and prepared for serious illnesses or accidents.
The Catatonk Golf Club will be the host of their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 27th with a 8:30 am “shot gun” start. This is a 4 person captain and crew tournament. Price is $60.00 per person which includes green fees, cart, and a dinner to follow. There will be cash prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, raffles and door prizes.
Deadline for registration is August 13th. You can get a registration form on www.candoremergencysqaud.com or by calling Kim at (607) 972-9964.
Hole sponsors and door prizes are also being requested. If you don’t golf, this may be a way you can help.
