State Police have finished their investigation into a crash that killed a Chemung County Sheriff’s Deputy and another man.
Deputy Jeff Alexander and Albert Paganelli, 77, were both killed in a crash on Route 427 in Ashland on June 12th.
According to the police report, Alexander was driving 64 miles per hour and Paganelli was driving 53 miles per hour in the 55 mile per hour zone. The report found that Alexander was not using either his cell phone or his in-car computer prior to the accident. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
The accident report lists the contributing factor of the crash that Deputy Alexander failed to keep right.
The results of the State Police investigation have been turned over to the Sheriff’s office to help with their internal investigation.
