Last week, Vestal Police arrested 25-year-old Amanda Patterson and 33-year-old James Orazi after a two-month investigation into the passing of bad checks.
The pair were were each charged with felony Scheme to Defraud.
They are accused of passing in excess of $13,000 in bad checks to various businesses throughout Broome County since September. The couple is also suspected of similar crimes in Tioga County, NY and Susquehanna, Pa. Both defendants reside in Vestal.
They were arraigned in the Town of Vestal Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail.
The arrests were made by Investigators of the Broome County District Attorney’s Office and Vestal Police Department.
