The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Saturday for the Southern Tier of New York, the western Catskills, and northeast Pennsylvania.
Accumulations of 2 to 6 inches are forecast with the greatest totals across the higher elevations.
Snow will overspread the region from west to east by late evening, generally between 9 PM and midnight. The heaviest snow should occur during the early morning hours on Saturday. Snow should then taper off by midday.
Temperatures will be mainly in the upper teens and 20s.
