Second Byrne Dairy Robber Sought

Ithaca police are searching for the second of two suspects who robbed a Byrne Dairy store on Meadow Street yesterday evening around 10 pm. They say two men entered the store telling the clerk they had a gun and going behind the counter to steal an unknown amount of money from the cash register. Then the two fled. Police apprehended one of the robbers a few blocks away. 39-year old James Alexander of Ithaca has been charged with second degree robbery and remanded to the Tompkins County jail on $5000 bail. Police continue their search for the second robber.
