Vestal Police are investigating the death of a sixteen-year-old girl at a home on the corner of Owego and Westland Roads in Vestal.
An autopsy, performed on Thursday, concluded the girl had been strangled.
Investigators were on the scene for most of Thursday; they were focused on the basement of the house.
Westland Road was closed until about 7:30PM.
The girl has not yet been identified pending the notification of relatives.
